Quick Life Update

Puppy yoga

A few days ago, I wrote about my New Year’s resolutions. Thus far, it’s been a struggle to maintain them. Except, eating chips and adding additional sugar into my diet. Here’s why. I’ve been on a few dates this year, and having a drink helps me to relax, and enjoy the moment around a stranger. I don’t go overboard, but a drink here or there is nice in these particular moments. In such cases, I’ll allow myself to enjoy the moment (if it’s a good date!). But that doesn’t mean going overboard. I’m still doing a great job of maintaining my resolutions. I haven’t eaten chips since 2025, a full 5 days ago lol. I haven’t felt the need to go out and buy chips, which if you know me, is a miracle since chips are my kryptonite. I could eat chips daily, and I have before. This is the time to make better snacking habits, so I’m swapping out the chips for a green juice made with Granny Smith apples and celery. It’s delicious tasting and nutritious.

In general, this is my normal healthy food routine (that I plan on switching up every month or so to ensure that I’m eating the rainbow).

Late breakfast (usually around 9-10am):

  • Avocado toast

  • 2 eggs

  • Mushrooms

  • Squash

  • Spinach

  • Mini bell peppers

  • Kimchee (for the probiotics!)

  • Hot sauce

Late lunch/early dinner (I’m usually hungry around 2-3pm):

  • Quinoa

  • Protein of some sort such as pork medallions or salmon

  • Broccoli

  • Cauliflower

  • Brussels sprouts

  • Olives

  • Mini potatoes

I’ve also started to re-incorporate yoga into my routine. I do quite a few HIIT workouts and runs, but I often feel sore afterwards. I got certified in yoga teacher training back in 2020, but since it was the pandemic, I never got the chance to actually teach in a studio. Eventually, I started to move away from yoga as I discovered more high intensity workouts. A great yoga class makes me feel much more nimble. I also feel that yoga is better for my overall longevity.
