Smoothie appreciation post

Since I’ve been on this wellness journey, I’ve rediscovered some of the things that gave me joy during a previous journey. One of those things is my daily smoothies. I love a smoothie. There’s no better way (in my opinion) of getting your daily dose of antioxidants and nutrients in one drink. I used to go to the health food stores to buy smoothies. Then I bought a blender, and began to create mine. It was easy, and it saved me a lot of money. I like to drink my main smoothie right after I workout when I also take my vitamins and supplements. I’ve adapted my morning smoothie throughout the years, but it’s mainly been consistent for several years. After drinking it, I feel refreshed and full. I tend to not eat breakfast in the morning (I’m a big fan of breakfast for dinner), so a smoothie is the perfect amount during this time.

My morning smoothie features:

  • Stevia

  • Frozen berries - I use these in place of ice cubes so I can add more to my smoothie

  • 1 scoop of Armra colostrum performance revival

  • 1 scoop of chia seeds

  • 1 scoop of flaxseeds

  • 1 handful of fresh mint leaves

  • Ginger

  • Half an avocado

  • 1 scoop of Greek yogurt

  • Lemon

  • Hand full of spinach

Once blended, I’ll drink this smoothie along with some of the vitamins and supplements that I take regularly. These include:

  • Omegas or Ashwagandha - I take one or the other each day

  • B-complex

  • Vitamin C

  • Calcium

  • Iron

  • Spirolina

  • Chlorella

Sometimes, I’ll change up my vitamin game and include glutamine or l-glutathione. It just depends on my mood, and what vitamins and supplements I have on hand. Overall, this smoothie (and iterations of it) has propelled me throughout the years. I’ve noticed that my digestion has greatly improved, and my hair, nails and skin are exponentially stronger.

Another smoothie that I’ve started to drink daily is for hydration. I work out a lot, and drinking too much water can deplete your nutrient supply. Thankfully, you can build up your hydration through the food we eat. In fact, this may be the best option for most people since it’s a natural way to hydrate your body.

Hydration smoothie:

  • Cucumber - cut up into pieces

  • Pineapple chunks

  • Ginger

  • Optional: Lemon

After drinking this smoothie, I feel completely refreshed. It’s hydrating and delicious as well. I’m always on the lookout for new smoothie recipes, and I love testing new concoctions. I just love a smoothie, and I hope this post represents that.
